FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF WTA DANCE ACADEMY
Lynne trained at The London College of Dance and Drama and danced professionally in this country and the Americas. Lynne won critical acclaim in Buenos Aires where she founded, performed with and choreographed for her own dance company before returning to Britain.Creating a base in Ilkley, West Yorkshire she taught for many and varied dance establishments including being one of the founder teachers and board members of The Yorkshire Dance Centre where she taught Jazz dance and founded the children’s work. In 1989 she began working in the fitness industry, specializing in exercise to music, ante and post natal exercise and exercise for the elderly, gaining a certificate in advanced fitness from Loughborough University. In 2002 she attained an M.A. in Contemporary Performing Arts, specialising in choreography, since then she set up and ran a successful dance department at Bingley Grammar School in West Yorkshire boasting some of the best GCSE and A Level results in the area, whilst attaining qualified
teacher status. She has worked as a dance professional in schools for many years and is an experienced workshop leader and inset trainer.
She is the artistic director of TranscenDance Co, a performing company of dancers and teachers with whom she runs summer theatre schools each year known as The Light Fantastic. In September 2007 Lynne founded Wright Theatre Arts Dance Academy in order to promote her personal ethos which is to develop excellence and confidence within a safe, friendly and supportive environment.
WTA Dance Academy is affiliated to The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is the world’s leading dance examinations board. Formed in 1904 it is today a registered educational charity and is the only organisation that covers the full spectrum of dance examinations on a truly global scale.
The ISTD’s chief objective is “to educate the public in the art of dancing in all its forms”.
TEACHER AND CHOREOGRAPHER AT WTA DANCE ACADEMY
Tamsin trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance Conservatoire gaining a BPA Hons degree in contemporary dance performance in 2007. She taught at WTA whilst organising further training in New York City where she trained in such esteemed establishments as The Alvin Ailey School, The Cunningham Studios, Martha Graham School, Paul Taylor Dance Company, not to mention taking advantage of the time to study American Tap and Hip Hop as well! In 2009 she performed with Peter Grist and company where she won acclaim for her energy and athleticism. In 2010 she was the lead singer and dancer for Classic International Cruises performing shows around the Baltic and the Mediterranean. Tamsin has been strongly influenced through her work in India where she performed with the A list Stars of Bollywood, dancing in the Movies, Music Videos and performing on Dance India Dance. On her return Tamsin choreographed and performed in Chipperfield’s Bollywood Circus, later forming Wright Bollywood Dance Company. Through close links with WTA Dance Academy, Tamsin is also on occasions using some of our senior girls from the Associate programme on a semi-professional basis, which provides invaluable experience for some who may wish to take their dancing further in the future.
Children are accepted into the Saturday morning Ballet Bambini class from the age of 2 years provided they will stay on their own once settled, which in some cases may take more than one lesson.

PUPILS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR THE CORRECT UNIFORM AS THIS PROVIDES A DISCIPLINED APPROACH TO CLASS. HAIR SHOULD BE WORN NEATLY AND PREFERABLY IN A BUN.
Dance is a disciplined art form and as such it is important to be correctly presented at all times in terms of uniform and hair. This is essential in the development of self – control, discipline, self – esteem and respect.
Students are required to wear regulation I.S.T.D uniform for all dance classes as follow.
