Genni attended WTA Dance Academy from the age of 3years old, originally attending ballet lessons but later also modern theatre, tap and jazz.

At the age of 8years she danced the role of Tinkerbell in our first production of Peter Pan (see photo in the gallery), where she cried and refused to go on stage at the beginning of the show….we haven’t been able to get her off since! She later danced the part of Lucy in The Lion the witch and the wardrobe (photos in gallery).

When she was 9 years old she auditioned for the Royal Ballet Associate programme in Leeds where she attended weekly lessons with a teacher from White Lodge. She passed the audition to remain for a second year on the programme during which she auditioned for White Lodge the junior Royal Ballet School. Genni was one of only ten girls accepted into Year 7, she is currently in Year 10 and is one of only four who remain from the original intake as the assessment necessary to remain each year is so rigorous.

During her time there she has been lucky enough to dance with the Royal Ballet Company at the Opera House Covent Garden in several productions. She has danced in The Nutcracker as a party child and a rat, as one of the small swans in Swan Lake and as a child in La Sylphide. She was also chosen as one of the two princesses who dance in Act 1 of Swan Lake which involved dancing a very short solo on stage.

At the end of Year 9 she was awarded the ballet prize for most improved dancer and has also won a scholarship to the Yorkshire Ballet Seminars held every summer.
